Covid-19 Response: Azalea Home Care Patients

The outbreak of COVID-19 presents the world with one of the most significant challenges in recent years. We recognize this is an extremely worrying time for everyone, not least for the senior and more vulnerable members of society and their loved ones.


Patient Safety is Priority

We have implemented a variety of safety measures intended to protect our patients, including masks and
face shields.

Here at Azalea Home Care, we are working hard throughout the crisis to ensure that our patients get the support they need during this time. Given the increased health risk for our customer base, I thought it was important to make everyone aware of the measures that we are taking to ensure the utmost safety of our patients.

Educational Resources

It is important to us that we both ensure our patients ease of mind and keep them educated on the current Covid-19 situation. Therefore we are providing weekly Covid-19 updates supplied by the CDC and Georgia State Health organizations. Our management here at Azalea management are sharing documents and resources to help patients secure equipment (masks, gloves, etc). Please also take note of the CDC’s recommendations for the prevention of the spread of Covid-19:

  • Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol

  • Avoid touching your face, eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands

  • Routinely clean and disinfect objects and surfaces since the virus is very susceptible to common antibacterial cleaners like bleach, hydrogen peroxide, and anything alcohol-based

  • Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue and then throw it away

  • Refill critical prescription medications

  • Reschedule routine medical appointments

  • Utilize telemedicine or other virtual tools to if you need to connect with your physician

  • Seek out information from reliable sources

  • Stay positive and reassure those around you

  • Find emotional support by communicating with friends or family via the phone or internet

Safety & Protective Equipment

We have implemented the following measures to ensure the safety and protection of our patients.

  • We are providing KN95 masks and face shields along with other key protective equipment to all of our staff, ensuring the protection of both patients and caregivers 

  • Our team is participating in additional crisis management and training to ensure patient safety. 

  • We have implemented an updated Community Engagement Policy which addresses: 1. The new practice for mask use. 2. Explains how the community engagement for medical appointments and medication pick-Up will be affected by the new social distancing rules. 3.Outlines the best way to carry out in-home engagement of caregivers with patients. 

Patient Feedback 

We have been hard at work with our partnered resource, Clearcare, to create an electronic questionnaire designed to get the vital feedback from our patients on how they are coping, what needs they need to be met and how we can help to continue to support them. We care about every one of our patients and collecting their feedback is very important to us.


  1. Home Care Packages – We are currently in the process of creating what we call a safety starter kit, that will be given out to help our patients protect themselves in the community. 

  2. Flexible Cost Options – We pride ourselves on being able to offer a comparatively more flexible price rate to our competitors, doing our best to provide great care to our patients that will fit within their budget. 

  3. Nursing Home / Discharge Assistance – We have also begun working with local nursing homes to help high risk patients safely transition to at home care.
